First shown at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show, this fourth-gen Sportage, currently on display at Auto Expo 2018, is closely related to Hyundai’s Tucson, and rivals it in most markets.

The sporty-looking SUV has great potential for the Indian market, if it launches here. While the international model comes with a variety of engine options, this Sportage is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that makes 185hp and 402Nm of torque. 2WD and 4WD options are available.

In terms of kit, top-spec versions of the Sportage feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration, an eight-speaker JBL sound system, a panoramic sunroof, reversing camera,adaptive bi-xenon headlights, LED front fog lamps and parking assist. Even base versions of the Sportage are equipped with front fog lights, hill-start assist and descent control, as well as USB and Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio and cruise control.

If the SUV does come to India, it will face off against the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass, depending on how well it is priced.

Hyundai launched the refreshed version of its premium hatchback Elite i20 at the Auto expo today. 

The company, which operates here through its wholly-owned arm Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), also unveiled its global electric vehicle Ioniq. 

"The new 2018 Elite i20 is a product of our continuous R&D efforts ... the product is aesthetically designed with premium interiors and modern looks that make it truly appealing," HMIL MD and CEO YK Koo told reporters here. .. 

India's newest automotive manufacturer is finally officially in India. Kia Motors showcased its full range at a massive display of design and engineering prowess at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. And at the center - the brand new Kia SP SUV Concept making its global debut! The Kia SP Concept is an SUV concept that is roughly similar to the Hyundai Creta in size and will most likely be based on the same platform and get the same internal bits as its Hyundai counterpart does. The Kia SP SUV concept will see a production version sometime next year when Kia Motors India officially starts production and sales of its cars in mid-2019.

French car maker Renault unveiled the concept electric, autonomous car Trezor at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Trezor is a two seater super car, which was first showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

The Trezor has a motor that develops 350 bhp of maximum power and weighs 1600kg. The car which is expected to come into production in 2020 can do 0-100km/hr in under four seconds. The rated top speed of the supercar is 250km/hr.

While the Trezor may not come to India any time soon the French company has promised to launch the compact electric car Zoe in the Indian market perhaps in the next financial year. The car has been testing in India since the last several months.
