Japanese carmaker Nissan has started
it first High Performance Centre (NHPC) in Noida, to meet committed services
for its performance cars like the GT-R, the flagship supercar now being
retailed at Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
Nissan had launched GT-R, the
legendary sports car on Friday in India after showcasing the car at the 2016
Auto Expo.
Speaking with Business Today, Arun
Malhotra, MD of Nissan India said that they are building up the infrastructure
for its sports cars sold in India. "It is Nissan's first High Performance
Centre in India. This comes after the launch of our iconic sports GT-R car in
the local market. We are quite proud to extend technicians' ability to provide
unique, global standards of technical assistance to Nissan GT-R owners across India.
The GT-R is not a volume car for us, but we are still investing to provide a
complete backup to our customers for all their service needs in India."
The staff at the NHPC in Noida has
had rigorous training in Japan to provide world-class level of service to the
GT-R customers. Additionally, mobile technicians called "flying
doctors" will be on call to make on-site visits to help its owners
anywhere in India.
Nissan Motor Company, which operates
a 100 per cent owned subsidiary Nissan Motor India Private since 2005,
currently retails to brands - Nissan and Datsun - with hatchback, MUV, SUV and
the sedan segments in India.
Its entry into the luxury sports
market comes at a time when the company is on a turnaround with sales growing
at more than 50 per cent on the success of its micro car redi-GO. The new cars
are expected to get a huge rub-off from the new GT-R, which has massive appeal
among motoring aficionados.
"We are making a giant leap for
the Nissan brand, unleashing our strong sporty DNA with our new flagship
supercar. It will increase our brand visibility and accelerate our drive of new
products for the new generation customers," Mr Malhotra added panerai replica.
The company is importing the GT-R
for sale in the Indian market from Japan and has cricketing legends like Sachin
Tendulkar in its customers' list of this sports car.
