New Honda HR-V coming to India in 2019

Honda has released new images of the refreshed HR-V (sold in Japan as the Vezel) on their Japanese website.

The new images of the facelift confirm details that had been revealed in the leak, from the new LED headlamps and a larger grille bar to the tweaked fog lamp housing and newly contoured front bumper.

While not all of the equipment that will come with the new crossover has been confirmed, Honda’s safety and driver assistance systems, called as Honda Sensing, will be offered on higher-spec trims. Honda’s newest infotainment system that comes with satellite navigation, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, is also expected to feature.

Mechanical details of the model have also yet to be revealed, however, the 1.5-litre petrol, 1.8-litre petrol, 1.6-litre diesel and the 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid unit are expected to continue unchanged from the pre-facelift model.

The Japanese manufacturer has also confirmed that the new HR-V will make its debut in Japan on February 15, 2018, which is when all the details of the car will be revealed.

India is expected to get this facelift model in 2019, along with five other new Honda cars that will launch over the next three years. Engine options for our market are expected to include the 1.8-litre petrol engine and 1.6-litre diesel (which will debut in India on the 2018 CR-V). The HR-V will be pegged against the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Creta when it is introduced.
