New Suzuki Vitara spied in India

Suzuki’s flagship SUV is sold internationally with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines; styling based on iV-4 concept.

These are the first photos of the new Vitara SUV on Indian soil. The Suzuki Vitara was unveiled earlier at the Paris motor show and is on sale in international markets. Maruti earlier sold the Grand Vitara XL-7 in India, but the SUV was taken off showrooms as it saw slow sales and was offered as a petrol-only model.

The new Vitara’s styling is based on the Suzuki iV-4 concept unveiled way back in 2013. This new SUV is based on an all-new platform that also underpins other Suzuki models globally, and is positioned alongside the S-Cross which is also available in India.

Internationally, the Vitara SUV is sold with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options. There is no news of this SUV heading to India yet. However, Maruti is readying an all-new compact SUV for our market which will rival the EcoSport.
