Indian reveals one-off Black Bullet

Indian Motorcycle has officially taken the wraps off a one-off customised motorcycle built

especially to be displayed at Sturgis, South Dakota from July 31-August 8, 2015. The bike will

then head to the Bonneville Salt Flats to find out how quickly it can go.

The motorcycle in question is based on Indian Motorcycle’s Scout, but is completely tricked out

by Jeb Scolman who was given the freedom to construct a motorcycle using the engine from a

Scout. He then built the Black Bullet. In the images, it's evident the Black Bullet resembles speed

seeking motorcycles from the late '50s and early '60s with a bullet-like fairing mounted on the

bike’s forks and the most basic frame structure.

With tight clip-on handle bars and footrests mounted to the rear axle, this results in a very

aggressive riding position with the rider always lying flat on the tank. The front wheel does not

receive any kind of braking mechanism either. This bike receives a custom-made intake

manifold, so the throttle body can be mounted sideways to allow an even tighter engine

packaging.

We'll keep you updated on more news about the Black Bullet.

New Yamaha MT-series bike leaked

Yamaha’s new, upcoming naked motorcycle is based on the YZF-R3 which was launched around the globe last year. Images that were procured from an official company source was recently seen on visordown.com. The new bike''s name hasn''t been revealed yet, but it could be called the MT-03, MT-3 or MT-32. The motorcycle is sure to be part of Yamaha’s MT family, and looks similar to the previous MT-25. Yamaha’s MT-25 is not equipped with an ABS braking system, but this new Yamaha gets one, clearly indicated by the ABS sensor ring on the front and rear disc brake. The faired Yamaha YZF-R3, on which the naked bike will be based, is powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled and four-stroke powerplant that makes 41.4bhp at 10,750rpm and a maximum torque of 3kgm at 9,000rpm. The bike uses conventional telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at rear for suspension duty. Although unconfirmed, the new bike may also be powered by a similar powerplant, but could be tuned to deliver power lower down in its rev range. Courtesy: Autocar
